GetResponse Conclusion

GetResponse received an overall star rating of 23 out of 25, one of the highest scores of the services we reviewed. They scored well on Email Deliverability and on Email Creation for offering more than 350 templates. Through a paid account, users are able to import contacts to their address book through Excel spreadsheets saved as CSV files but not in the free trial. They also scored high on Analyzing Reports for Google Analytics integration and on Customer Support for offering live chat support.

MailChimp review GetResponse: Email Creation

GetResponse received 5 out of 5 stars for Email Creation. The vendor offers 1 GB of image hosting space, which is much more than our Industry Benchmark of 5 to 10 MB. They allow you to edit your custom images and offer more than 350 very flexible templates. You can edit and replace images from the templates as well as insert up to three columns. GetResponse also offers a WYSIWYG editor that enables you to easily edit your email campaign while being able to see what it will look like to your readers. You are able to drag and drop both images and content blocks when creating an email. The vendor also has extra features such as Facebook and Twitter integration and iPhone and Android applications.

MailChimp review GetResponse: Contact Management

GetResponse received 4 out of 5 stars for Contact Management because of limitations we had with their free trial. The online interface is able to import your contacts through an Excel spreadsheet saved as a CSV file with a paid account, but the free trial only allows for cut and paste contact importing. They allow you to import contacts from Outlook, Salesforce, and other email accounts such as Gmail, Yahoo, and Hotmail. We found using their contact management to be moderately easy. They offer an autoresponder, which allows you to send a standard welcome message to your new subscribers confirming their signup. GetResponse also automatically removes bounces and unsubscribes from your contact list.

MailChimp reviewGetResponse: Email Deliverability

GetResponse received 4 out of 5 stars for Email Deliverability. One hundred percent of the emails that were supposed to get through our test were delivered properly. They don't have real people check your campaigns before they go out like some services, but they do have a spam checking tool called “SpamCop” that tests your content to see how likely it is to be blocked and then displays suggestions on what to fix. Upon scheduling your email campaigns for immediate delivery, the campaign is sent out in under a minute. They also have time zone scheduling available when sending out your campaigns.

MailChimp review GetResponse: Analyzing Reports

GetResponse received 5 out of 5 stars for Analyzing Reports. The reports show opens, number of clicks, bounces, unsubscribes, top performing links, and spam reports. The reports also accurately reflect user actions. You can receive your reports in an email, export reports into a spreadsheet, and display reports in graphs. You can also export a clean list with no bounces or unsubscribes. GetResponse allows you to create an A/B test campaign, which helps you test out certain variables that may affect the effectiveness of your email campaign. In addition, their reports integrate with Google Analytics, allowing you to view your readers’ traffic from your email campaign.

MailChimp review GetResponse: Customer Support

GetResponse received 5 out of 5 starts for Customer Support. They offer phone and live chat support from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET Monday through Friday and phone support only from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET on Saturday. We found their support to be very helpful and experienced no substantial wait times. They also have great email support. On top of that, they offer text and video tutorials, FAQs, as well as a newsletter.

MailChimp review GetResponse: Pricing

They offer a 30-day free trial that includes 250 contacts and unlimited emails. GetResponse’s pricing is contact based, and is $15 for 1000 contacts, $25 for 2500 contacts, and $45 for 5000 contacts. Contact-based pricing allows you to send an unlimited number of emails to all of the email addresses in your contact list and is advantageous if you intend to send more than one email per month to the same list of contacts.
