StreamSend Conclusion
StreamSend’s overall star rating is 19 out of 25 stars. While StreamSend’s biggest strengths are their accuracy and thoroughness in Analyzing Reports and friendly Customer Support, their weakness is in their inability to automatically remove unsubscribes and bounces. However, the inclusion of nine spam filters that test every sent email is well above the Industry Benchmark and is definitely a positive characteristic of their Email Deliverability.
StreamSend received 4 of 5 stars for Email Creation. Their unlimited image hosting space is above the Industry Benchmark, but they do not allow you to edit your custom images. They offer 167 email templates, which are semi-flexible since you can delete and replace some of their pre-set images, but they limit the columns in the template to two. A big plus with StreamSend is that they have a WYSIWYG editor that allows you to edit your email while seeing exactly how it will look to your readers. The online editor allows you to drag and drop images, but the content blocks are fixed. StreamSend’s preview screen and ability to remove its logo from emails are pluses. Their social network integration with Twitter, Facebook, and MySpace is another pro for their email creation.
StreamSend received 3 out of 5 stars for Contact Management. You can import contacts from Excel if saved as a TXT file, as well as cut and paste directly into their online address book. You are also able to import from Outlook as a CSV file. However, the content management through StreamSend is fairly easy to use in relation to others we have reviewed. They also offer an autoresponder that allows you to send a standard welcome message to your new subscribers confirming their sign-up. However unlike the Industry Benchmark, StreamSend does not automatically remove unsubscribes or bounces from your contact list, but instead labels them as “unsubscribed” users in your subscribers list.
StreamSend’s star rating for Email Deliverability was 4 out of 5 stars. One hundred percent of our emails got through during the tests, and they offer a spam checker that runs your email through a combination of nine spam filters in order to check for irregularities. You cannot re-edit an email after it has scheduled to send, even though it takes an additional 20 minutes after clicking “send immediately” for the email to be sent.
StreamSend received 4 out of 5 stars in relation to their ability to display and analyze reports. These reports show such actions as email campaign opens, forwards, number of clicks, bounces, unsubscribes, and spam reports. These reports all accurately reflect the user’s actions, although there are no visual representations (i.e. graphs and charts) or ways to export reports in an email or as a spreadsheet. You are also not able to export a clean list or export bounces from these reports. Streamsend does offer an automatic A/B testing feature, which allows you to test out specific demographics to determine how to get more readers to open your emails. However, the reports they offer do integrate with Google Analytics.
StreamSend’s Customer Support quality received 4 out of 5 stars. They offer phone support from the hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. PT and 24/7 email support. But without live chat, StreamSend's customer support is limited. However, the support we did receive was very friendly, helpful, and timely during our trials with short wait times. StreamSend also offers text tutorials and an FAQ section which are very helpful with general information and problems.
StreamSend offers a free trial period of 30 days with 2000 emails. They offer email-based pricing starting at 2000 emails for $19.90 per month. So if you are looking to send a small number of emails to many different email addresses, this pricing option could be right for you.
