Email marketing services are now more popular than ever, allowing businesses to communicate to customers directly and personally. In an effort to get more people using email marketing services to send mass emails, the top email marketing companies have come out with iPhone apps that allow people on the go to send email campaigns, check campaign reports and add new contacts from their mobile phones.
Check out these new iPhone apps from top services that give you the ability to send an email blast from the palm of your hand:
Like Constant Contact’s desktop interface, this app is very user-friendly. It gives you a simple pie-chart view of email campaign reports and a handy screen for uploading contacts. You can also search your contact base and send personal emails to any contact. It’s simple, quick and effective.
ExactTarget’s app lets gives you a lot of control over sending email campaigns. You can see completed, scheduled and paused sends, as well as sends in progress. Reports can be viewed in a simple bar graph, and you are able to see top performing links. However, this app lacks an easy way to add contacts to your email lists, which is not ideal for people wanting to add contacts at networking events and on the go.
Much like ConstantContact’s app, GetResponse’s app allows you to do two simple things: check campaign reports and add new contacts. The reports aren’t as sleek (no graphs, just numbers), but you’ll be able to track your emails and contacts added by date range. You can also shake the phone to update your reports, which is nifty.
MailChimp’s app was recently released this past April, but it’s slightly cumbersome. The dashboard features a content slider that forces you to slide an icon into a shaded box before you can click to open it. They let you add email addresses quickly and easily, but you are not able to capture any other identifying information, such as a person’s name or address. Also, you can’t navigate back to the dashboard for some pages, such as the Lists page and the Chimp Chatter page. Chimp Chatter is nice, since it gives you Twitter-like updates of recent email stats and new subscriptions.
iContact has a straightforward interface that allows you to easily add new contacts to your list, as well as send and track email campaigns. The app tracks opens, clicks, bounces, unsubscribes and forwards in a simple bar graph, showing percentages of each statistic. We wish that they would let you see the actual number of people for each stat, which would make the reports easier to read. However, we like that they include their email support and phone number within the app itself for people having technical difficulties.
Although there’s an older app available in the App Store, this new app was just launched this February. Essentially, CampaignMonitor’s app is a web app or quick view of the site. Simply access your account through any online browser, and you’ll be redirected to the iPhone interface, where you can view pie-chart reports and access your contact lists. What’s nice is that you can click the Add to Home Screen button to create an icon much like a regular app on your phone.
