Big Response Conclusion
Although Big Response's email creation tools are straightforward and easy-to-use, their lack of reliable deliverability as well as their non-existent customer support make them an undesirable choice as an email marketing service provider.
Big Response: Email Creation
Big Response’s main advantages are that it comes complete with a WYSIWYG editor and offers an in-depth preview of what your email will look like when opened in the interfaces of several major email providers (like Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, Outlook, etc). Big Response’s email marketing service gives the user 126 high quality templates to choose from. This number is below the market standard; however, each template is professionally designed. Big Response also offers unlimited image hosting and the ability to add an attachment to your email. It should be noted, however, that many of the representatives we spoke to from various companies informed us that adding an attachment to an email marketing campaign will very likely get it flagged as spam.
Big Response: Contact Management
Adding and managing contacts through Big Response is rather limited. The user has the option of either importing contacts as a CSV file or manually inputting them one at a time (which could be a lengthy process for those which large contact lists). You are unable to simply cutt and paste directly into the interface. Another issue is that you cannot easily delete email addresses that bounce. You must delete them one at a time, which is very tedious relative to most of the other interfaces. They will automatically remove unsubscribes from your list, but they don’t have a sign-up form template for you to use on your website.
Big Response: Email Deliverability
Emails sent using Big Response had 50% deliverability rate to all major email servers that we tested. This means that over 50% of the emails we sent through their program were either not delivered or were flagged as spam. They make no guarantees about deliverability or spam compliance. Out of all the email marketing providers we tested Big Response had the worst deliverability rate. The fact that emails sent through Big Response are not making it to their intended recipients makes the ease of email creation and strength of reporting irrelevant.
Big Response: Analyzing Reports
Big Response’s best feature is the strength of their reporting. They integrate with Google Analytics, which is an exceptional feature, as well as provide in-depth statistics on opens, bounces, clicks, unsubscribes and forwards. BigReponse also allows you to conduct A/B testing in order to see which of your headlines performs the best. This feature is not standard among email marketing providers. Statistics are updated instantly, and you can export all of your reports.
Big Response: Customer Support
Big Response is located in Australia, and they offer no phone support. There is a phone number listed prominently on their website but if you call it from an American number you will get an automated message telling you to email your inquiry or use their online Knowledge Base. They have no live chat support, but they guarantee a 24 hour turn-around on your email inquiry. So if you have a pressing question, you may not receive an answer until the next day. They do have a Knowledge Base located on their website, however, Big Response’s offers a relatively limited FAQ section in comparison with other email marketing providers we’ve reviewed.
Big Response: Pricing
Big Response charges a monthly fee, based on the number of emails you send per month. You must pay an upfront cost for the amount of emails you anticipate sending within a period of 30 days. If there are any unused email credits at the end of 30 days, they will be forfeited. You will have to purchase more emails to be able to continue using Big Response’s service. If you sign up for a free trial, you can test all of Big Response’s email marketing features for 30 days with a limit of 100 emails.
